The new animated series Huntik premiered on Singapore TV on Wednesday.
What caught my attention about it was that the main character had an uncanny resemblance to one of my own characters.
The only differences in physical appearance is that my character is slightly younger and doesn't have blue eyes.
So I decided to watch the show debut. The graphics and settings in the commercial did look promising for art references. Plus, they have an awwwwwwesome theme song. Check it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_g0lRGKnUY

The verdict? It didn't meet my expectations. I thought it would be much better.
I know, I can't say anything. As if I could even use Flash or draw properly, but there were some points in the show where I felt the voice acting was extremely pretentious. Also, the animation was off in some parts, like say the somersaults in the theme song video. It has a rather cliche plot, what with magical amulets and stuff. But whatever. I love the graphics and settings, I love the characters so far, and yes, I do still love the theme song.
And there was effort put in to make that kind of magic-story plot unique. Mmm, admirable.
Wonderful show of Italian origins. Wonderful series by Iginio Straffi. It was just 0.001% away from what I expected. Though it's impossible that I'll ever work in the animation industry, I can still dream anyway. And continue analysing animations for art.
LOL, so now I see myself becoming a fan of Huntik. XD

And it's only been that short while. Kyaaah.
Now if only I could find time to see the rest of the episodes, and Aiyi can't record them for me...
